She's Gone Bananas! Some Tips Before You Buy A Banana Stand...

My homemade banana stand: using the shelves in our pantry! The bruising you see is from their time on the store shelf. We go through A LOT of bananas with all the smoothies we make, so we usually buy bananas in bulk. Sometimes, they go bad before we manage to use them all.

If bananas go bad too quickly for you, too, consider doing what I do: hang the bananas from their stems in your pantry!

Don't laugh...

CLICK for recipes for homemade banana bread! Unless you plan on whipping up a batch of banana bread every time you're left with over-ripe bananas, then you need to find SOME method of prolonging the life of your bananas. (Pssst... mushy bananas work well in smoothies, too.)

Lipper Beechwood Collection Banana Hanger. My homemade version of the banana stand works great... and it doesn't cost a penny!

My Husband's A Great Cook!...

...just don't ask him for the recipe for anything he's created -- because he doesn't know.

Jim buttering up to the turkey before he cooks it. Oh he'll start with a recipe in hand. Or rather, a HANDFUL of recipes -- all for similar (but not identical) dishes.

Jim slicing the turkey... with a look that something's gone wrong. Then he picks the best of what he likes from each of them, and he creates his "masterpiece".

I figure I haven't died yet, so I'm content to let him keep experimenting on me.

He definitely likes to "mix it up a bit".
