Over the past weekend, Jim and I had to make a trip from the Grand Canyon to Page, Arizona to have some work done on our truck at the Ford dealership there. Because it's the closest dealership to us, and because it's about 150 miles away, we decided to go on Sunday afternoon and spend the night so we could be there when they opened.
Eating in restaurants I have never been in before is difficult because I have to know that what I eat is gluten free.
When you're traveling and you're trying to find gluten-free foods when you dine out, some cuisines are easier than others.
We wound up at a local Mexican restaurant called Fiesta Mexicana.
The nice lady at the front desk of the campground we are staying at in Wichita recommended Jimmie's Diner for breakfast.
To get there, we drove about 4 miles down K-96 east to the Rock Road exit, and turned right. The restaurant is about a half mile on the right, just past the Hooters.
Jimmie's is a 50's diner, where all the waitresses wear poodle skirts and ponytails.
See how the major airports stack up when it comes to healthy (and tasty) restaurant food.
The following reports on airport food can help you to make good choices -- when you're traveling by plane.
But first, remember the days when you used to get a meal on a plane? Have a listen to Bud Light's Real Men of Genius "Mr. Airline Meal Chef":
Now you really can have a burger just the way you want it at Wendy's. You just have to be the winning entry.
Wendy's Old-Fashioned Hamburgers is going to add a new burger to their menu, and they need your help creating it...
Talk about "the Domino effect"...!

Here's some more funny stuff about pizza delivery drivers...
Whenever I'm on the road, or when I want to slip out of the office during lunchtime for something other than the cheese and hotdogs that I normally take for lunch (while I'm on this Low-Carb "diet")... I like to know my options going in.
Do you know what the Low-Carb choices are at fast-food restaurants these days?
Here's what I found...
All I've gotta say is... Wow, fast-food drive-thru's are FAST these days!
I don't go to the drive-thru much. Fast grease food restaurants just aren't really my thing anymore.
Kinda reminds me of a sign I saw when driving past a Hooter's in Florida. It read: "Fresh Grease Thursday!"
...Also reminds me of a Bud Light Real Men of Genius ad -- because I can never decide on what to order at a fast-food restaurant. It's all pretty much the same to me.

However, Jim was out of town this past week, and I found myself craving the convenience of fast-food restaurants for a change.
I've noticed that lots of people are finding their way to our site after searching for something about Lambert's Cafe (we currently have two photos in our photo gallery about this unique dining establishment).
Which reminded me that I also took this crazy photo the last time we went to Lambert's Cafe in Foley, Alabama:

Tomorrow's the big day... don't miss out!
According to the Krispy Kreme website:
"Come in to participating Krispy Kreme retail stores on June 3, 2005 and to express our appreciation for your support, we'll give you a free doughnut of your choice!"
You can't beat FREE, right?
And you can't beat all these delicious varieties of donuts!
How many of you knew that Wendy's was offering a free Frosty to anyone who asked for it this past weekend?
It was advertised on their website and in television commercials:
Supposedly, it was to help promote goodwill with Wendy's customers again -- after the finger incident.
Sunday night, after our visit to the movies, we swung by Wendy's for our free Frostys.
But then Jim got cold feet...
The Jack Daniel's Distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee is close enough to Nashville that we take a road trip out there once a year or so.
It's also a fun thing to do with guests whenever they're in town visiting us. The best part: It's FREE!
Here are the highlights of our February 27th Jack Daniel's tour with Jim's parents.
If you're thinking about losing a few l.b.'s before the holiday food-fest is upon us, I would highly recommend jumping on the low-carb bandwagon with us... at least for a couple of weeks.
Listen to Bud Light's Real Men of Genius "Mr. Over The Top Carb Counter":
The best thing about following the Atkins Nutritional Approach is that immediately - from Day One - your body switches from primarily burning carbohydrates to primarily burning fat as its main energy source. So you know that you're making a difference in your weight-loss from the start!
Lose Weight & Feel Great On Atkins
Truth be told, you've probably tried Atkins before... but quickly became dismayed with the whole process of having to count carbs and limit yourself from ingesting certain foods. But, I'd highly recommend giving it a go one more time.
With the boom of the low-carb phase in society in recent months, it's not only "trendy" to go low-carb, but it's easy too!
- Restaurants have created no-hassle low-carb menus (and we're talkin' all the hip & cool places you like to eat).
- Grocery stores are stocking low-carb food products (including pasta noodles, breads, and baking mixes).
- Not to mention all the tasty sweet treats available due to the recent invention of sugar alcohols, which have received a favorable nod from the FDA!
Check out this health report on the worst low-carb restaurant entrees.
With all of these options in support of the low-carb dieter, it's no longer hard to stick to the Atkins plan. Plus, most food labels have taken the guesswork of out it for you too... clearly indicating the number of "net carbs" in their products.
If you're up for it, there's no time like the present to jump on board!
Now, onto all the juicy details including "legal" snacks and desserts to die for, recommendations for what to order at restaurants, how to spice up your low-carb menus at home, and where to find grocery stores selling Atkins-friendly food items in your area...
Sticking to the Atkins weight loss plan has been a breeze for both Jim and I, but we still have a need for something sweet on occasion.
We recently tried a Low-Carb Smoothie from our all-time favorite: Smoothie King.
In fact, it was part of the motivation for going on Atkins in the first place... that we would still be able to satisfy our craving for a Smoothie by ordering their "low carb" version, instead of the megga-carbed and megga-tasty "regular" Angel Food smoothie.
