As I've mentioned before, we're doing the whole "low-carb thing" again.
Also, as I've mentioned before, we don't do it "by the book". (Far from it.)
We are entering what I call the "comfortable phase" of the Low-Carb Diet Plan, and I'm here to tell you, you can eat low-carb for 3 weeks and counting and STILL...
...want to stay on the plan
...fit into your clothes better (even enjoy the "baggy factor" again!)
...not feel deprived
...feel GREAT about being having more energy ALL throughout the day
Whenever I'm on the road, or when I want to slip out of the office during lunchtime for something other than the cheese and hotdogs that I normally take for lunch (while I'm on this Low-Carb "diet")... I like to know my options going in.
Do you know what the Low-Carb choices are at fast-food restaurants these days?
Here's what I found...
Yeah, we're at it again... though I'm not sure we have near enough willpower to stick with it this time.
For the record, here's how we did last time.
Jim travels A LOT, and neither of us takes the time to cook these days. So sticking to a 100% Atkins-friendly diet is going to be quite difficult this go-around.
Nevertheless, we're bound & determined to give it a go & see what happens.
To help us enjoy the ride this time... we've found 10 snacks & desserts that make the "dieting" process a little bit easier and a whole lot more FUN!
The following recipe for Buffalo Wings was originally posted February 1, 2006 on Nick Bakay's Xtra Large Blog at Superbowl.com.
Actor/writer/comedian Nick Bakay, whose 'Manly House of Football' segments can be seen regularly on NFL Network, will be a major voice on Superbowl.com throughout the week."
Since it doesn't look like they're preserving any archives of his stuff, I fear that this great recipe will vanish into thin air in a couple days. Therefore, today's post is in honor of Nick Bakay and his one-of-a-kind "original" Buffalo Wings recipe.
And, while you're homemade buffalo wings are sure to be a hit... your guests will also need something wash 'em down with. The "football fan cocktails" which follow are to die for.
Enjoy!
I learned a few little-known secrets and food tips from Martha Stewart today:
(Keep reading... it gets better.)
- ...To keep POTATOES from budding, place an apple in the bag with the potatoes.
...Stuff a miniature marshmallow in the bottom of a sugar cone to prevent ICE CREAM drips.
...Wrap CELERY in aluminum foil when putting in the refrigerator and it will keep for weeks.
...Cure for headaches: Take a LIME, cut it in half and rub it on your forehead. The throbbing will go away.
...Don't throw out all that leftover WINE. Instead, freeze into ice cubes for future use in casseroles and other dishes.
So, where in the world did I find these great tips from Martha Stewart, you ask?... Why on CarTalk of course!
