Sales At Grocery Stores Don't Always Save You Money

grocery-shopping-by-klwatts.jpg Grocery stores use many tricks to get you to purchase more than you really need.

When you think you are getting a bargain you start thinking you should stock up since this price break won't last forever.

Funny thing though, many times they are just twisting the numbers so you think you need to buy a lot to take full advantage of the "special."

Saving money at the grocery store means you know that when the coupon says 10 for $10 you don't have to buy all 10 to get what amounts to $1 each.  Who wants so many of one thing anyway?  Usually it just sits on the pantry shelf so long that it goes out of date, right?

This goes for fresh produce as well.  There are some good tricks to getting the most for your money at the Farmer's Market.

Of course, the best trick to saving money is to shop from a list that you made while planning meals from things you already have on hand. Sticking to the list will keep the impulse items out of your cart.
